WhatsApp order confirmation to cut fake cash-on-delivery orders in Nepal

Many customers in Nepal prefer cash on delivery, and that is where shops lose money: the rider goes, the customer is not there or says no, and you still pay the delivery charge. A confirmation on WhatsApp before the parcel leaves lets you catch those orders first.

How the confirmation works

  1. 1An order comes in from your website, Facebook, Instagram or a simple order form your team fills in.
  2. 2The customer gets a WhatsApp message with the items, the total including delivery, the delivery day and the payment method.
  3. 3They tap Confirm or Cancel.
  4. 4Only confirmed orders go on the day's delivery list.
  5. 5No answer? One reminder goes out. If there is still no answer, the order is held, not sent, and your team decides.
  6. 6You see every order and its status in one list.

The WhatsApp Business app or the WhatsApp Business Platform?

WhatsApp Business app

Free, on one phone. You send each confirmation yourself, with quick replies and labels to help. Fine for a few orders a day.

WhatsApp Business Platform

Confirmations go out by themselves from your order list, and replies update the order. Meta charges per message for messages a business starts, such as order confirmations. We show you the cost per order before we set it up.

Meta's rules for automated WhatsApp messages

  • Messages your shop starts must use a message template that Meta has approved.
  • Automation on WhatsApp must serve your business: orders, bookings, support. Since 15 January 2026 Meta does not allow general chat assistants on the Platform.
  • Message only customers who gave you their number for the order.
  • Keep confirmations plain. A confirmation is not the place for a promotion.

What a good confirmation message says

  • Your shop's name, so the customer knows who is writing.
  • The items and quantity, and the total including the delivery charge.
  • The expected delivery day and the payment method (cash on delivery, eSewa, Khalti).
  • Exactly how to confirm or cancel, in one tap.

What to measure

Count three things for a month before and a month after: orders cancelled before dispatch, parcels refused or not collected at the door, and delivery charges paid for parcels that came back. If the numbers do not move, the confirmation is not worth keeping.

Our work

Where we have built this step

Khatra Tickets, live at khatratickets.com, issues a ticket only after the organiser confirms the payment, and emails it to the buyer. Divyanta's Messenger and Instagram assistant counts a chat as a sale only when the customer chooses cash on delivery or paying first. A WhatsApp confirmation for your shop uses the same pieces.

Questions owners ask

Do my customers need to install anything?

No. They get a normal WhatsApp message and tap a button to confirm or cancel.

My shop only sells through Facebook. Does this still work?

Yes. Your team adds each order in a short form, and the confirmation goes out from there.

What if the customer does not reply?

One reminder goes out. If there is still no reply, the order is held and your team decides whether to call or cancel.

What does it cost?

A fixed price to set it up, agreed before we start, plus Meta's per-message charge and hosting. You see the cost per order before you agree.
